Oil, 2003, digitally reworked in 2009.

This was something I painted for the cover of my own book 'The Rise and Fall of the Knights Templar' (Spellmount 2003). I tweaked it a bit digitally for use on the cover of the second edition. The second edition therefore testifies to my modest progress as an artist as well as an historian.
