Heraldry

The art of heraldry was born out of the need for medieval knights to identify themselves in battle. Emblems were painted on shields and emblazoned on banners. Heralds, court messengers and officials of tournaments, became responsible for codifying the system, and settling rights of persons to bear arms, as nobles and knights took a possessive pride in their family symbols (armorial bearings).

Prints

I am available to provide commissioned prints of known family coats of arms (or to design unofficial coats of arms or to reproduce your own designs). The shield, motto and crest will be hand drawn to specification, scanned and coloured digitally. Prints will be produced to graphic design quality and professionally mounted (A4 size).

If you are interested in commissioning a print of your coat of arms, please e-mail giaour94@hotmail.com for details.
