'Pilgrimage to Damnation' was a story I wrote when I was still in my teens, a gothic horror set during the crusades. It has bloodcurdling horror, poignant romance, tragedy, occult mystery, epic battles, vampires and Templars. I may revise it into something worthy and try to get it published one day. This is a mock up cover done as a bit of fun, meanwhile. The story is obviously supernatural fantasy, but I wanted a realistic and historically accurate backdrop. The background research for this carried on as historical research for its own sake. It led to bigger and better things, ultimately I wrote and had published a factual book 'The Rise and Fall of the Knights Templar' (Spellmount, 2003) Another legacy of the book was my borrowing of the protagonist's name for this website and as my internet alias.
